Faiyr is a group expense-splitting app for roommates, couples, and friend groups who share ongoing costs. You log shared expenses, Faiyr works out who owes what, and you settle up whenever it's convenient. No spreadsheets, no awkward "hey, you still owe me" conversations.

It takes about a minute. First, tap Create a Group, give it a name (like "Apartment 4B" or "Book Club"), and pick a currency. Next, invite the people you're splitting with - they don't all need to sign up first, more on that below. Then log your first expense: enter the amount, who paid, and how to split it. Say you and two roommates split a $120 grocery run evenly - Faiyr instantly shows each person owes $40 and updates everyone's balance. That's the whole loop.

Faiyr works best when every member has their own account - that's how everyone gets the full convenience the app is built for: logging expenses on the go, watching balances update live, and getting a friendly reminder when it's time to settle up. That said, real groups aren't always like that. When someone just won't sign up - a landlord, a subletter, a grandparent, a parent covering half the rent - any member can add them to the group on their behalf. Their share and balance are tracked like everyone else's; they simply never have to log in. And when they want to see where things stand, a group admin can share a view-only guest link with them - it opens in any browser, no app or account needed, and can be revoked at any time. If they ever want to join properly, one tap on that same link signs them up and they take over their spot in the group, history and all. That's a common headache with other splitting apps, and Faiyr is built to avoid it.

From the group screen, tap Invite Members to generate a shareable invite link, or show it as a QR code. Send it however's easiest - text, email, WhatsApp. Whoever you send it to just follows the link to join your group. Each link expires after 7 days, so if it goes stale, generate a fresh one.

By default, Faiyr splits every expense equally among the group's active members. Need something different - say one roommate skips the streaming subscription, or someone's covering a bigger share on purpose? Switch to a custom split and set an exact share for each person. Either way, balances update immediately and the math is always exact, right down to the cent.

Yes. Set it up once - say, rent on the 1st of every month - and Faiyr logs it automatically on schedule, split the same way each time. A simple monthly repeat is included free. More flexible schedules (custom frequencies, fixed end dates, and so on) are part of Faiyr Pro.

Yes, any time. The person who added it, or a group owner or admin, can edit or delete an expense, and Faiyr recalculates everyone's balance automatically.

Your group screen shows a running balance for everyone: a positive number means the group owes you, a negative number means you owe the group. Faiyr also works out the simplest way to settle up - instead of everyone paying everyone back separately, it figures out the fewest payments needed to even the whole group out.

Faiyr doesn't move money for you - it's a tracker, not a payment processor. Settle up however works for your group (e-transfer, cash, Venmo, PayPal, bank transfer), then tap Record a Payment in the app so balances stay accurate. Faiyr also sends occasional reminders to members with an outstanding balance, so nobody has to be the one chasing it down.

Yes. When you create a group, you choose its currency - dollars, euros, pounds, and dozens more - and every expense in that group is tracked in that currency. Different groups can use different currencies, so a "Roommates" group in CAD and a "Book Club" group in EUR both work fine side by side. Pro users can go further and record any individual expense in a different currency - pay for a group dinner abroad in the local currency, and Faiyr converts it into your group's currency automatically. Especially handy for international travellers.

Only active members of a group can see that group's expenses and balances. Nobody outside your groups can see your data, and Faiyr never sells or shares your personal financial information with third parties.

Your data is encrypted both in transit and at rest, and stored on world-class secure cloud infrastructure with regular backups in place. We only use your information to run the app for you and we do not sell your data - see our Privacy Policy for the full details.

Go to Settings → Delete Account in the app. This permanently deletes your account and removes you from every group. If you're a group's sole owner, ownership automatically passes to another member so the group and its history aren't lost. Account deletion has to happen in the app itself - that's an App Store and Play Store requirement - see our Privacy Policy for what happens to any remaining data afterward.

Yes. Go to Settings → Export My Data to request a complete copy of your account information, which we'll email to your registered address. This is your right under data protection laws like GDPR.

Yes - Faiyr is free to use for everyday expense tracking, no credit card required to start. On the free plan you can log unlimited expenses and payments, join and help run as many groups as you like, and create up to 3 active groups of your own. Faiyr Pro is an optional subscription, starting from $3.99/mo (US pricing; prices vary by country), that lifts the ownership cap and unlocks the extra features covered in the next question. There's a 7-day free trial on the annual plan, so you can try Pro before you commit.

Faiyr Pro adds a few extras for people who want more firepower: AI receipt scanning (snap a photo of a receipt and Faiyr fills in the expense details for you), unlimited group ownership (on the free plan you can join an unlimited number of groups, but own at most 3 active ones), recording individual expenses in any currency with automatic conversion, more flexible recurring expense schedules (custom frequencies and end dates, not just a simple monthly repeat), and multiple admins with custom permissions for bigger or more complex groups (handy for house managers, treasurers, or shared households). Everyone can still log expenses, split them, and settle up without a subscription.

You can cancel any time - subscriptions are managed through whichever store you subscribed via (the App Store or Google Play), just like cancelling any other app subscription. When your subscription ends, you keep full access to your groups, expenses, and balance history; you just lose the Pro-only extras until you resubscribe. If you own more than 3 active groups when Pro ends, nothing happens to your data - you get a grace period to renew, hand ownership of some groups to another member, or archive the ones you no longer need. Nothing is ever deleted just because your subscription lapses.
